The Decision Grid
DataGrids are used in almost every ASP.NET project you will work on. Being such an important tool in your toolbox, you might as well get the best possible third party DataGrid. But picking a DataGrid is not just about functionality. It is also about productivity.

So, although all these tools provide the base functionality that I set in my criteria, and then some, I consider the Infragistics UltraWebGrid to be the best all-around DataGrid. It's reasonably priced (especially when you consider the other tools in the suite it's a part of), its documentation is excellent and well-integrated with the rest of the MSDN help files, and it has plenty of nice add-ons that will probably tempt me to try them out.
That's not to say that the other DataGrids are inadequate. For example, if you are going to replace the ASP.NET DataGrid in an existing project, the ComponentOne's WebGrid is a great choice. On the other hand, if all you need is database editing and price is crucially important, then DevExpress's ASPxGrid is the right
choice.

Pros
Looks and feels like ASP.NET DataGrid
Great database editing and phenomenal price.
Both hierarchical and Outlook-style Group by features are great. Documentation is top notch.
