PayPal, an online payment service, released a beta of PayPal Web Services. These tools and services will enable merchants and developers to create solutions and applications that interact directly with the PayPal eCommerce platform. The four SOAP-based Web services APIs that are exposed will return basic transaction details based on certain search criteria; return all details associated with the transaction, such as customer e-mail address, time of payment, and purchase details; reverse the transaction and issue a refund or partial refund to the purchaser; and an automatic transfer of funds to one or many recipients.
