Springboarding off MapPoint 2004, Microsoft's topographic data visualization tool, the company announced version 3.5 of the MapPoint Web Service 3.5. Many of the location-based services—maps, driving directions, address parsing, points of interest—found in the client install are included here. The Find service has been expanded to query over 200,000 points of interest, with 16 million business listings in 19 countries. MapPoint continues to support SOAP and XML. And better support is integrated for Smartphones and Pocket PCs.
