In this second video in the DevSource "Great Minds in Development" series, you'll hear from Kim Jones, pres of Spinning Electrons, who works closely with Price Waterhouse. The topic might sound a bit buzzword-heavy, as terms like "agility" and "software as a service" are bandied about, but Jones offers a lot of useful advice for developers (and their managers).
"Businesses today are seeing an increasing need to more rapidly adapt to changing environments," Jones says, and that means better communication between IT and other departments — particularly in large, complex, distributed organizations. "If you need a biz to be agile you need an architecture to be agile, too," he says.
Hear what he has to say about the mitigation of risk (both in software terms and company flexibilty), the proper approach towards reusabiility, XML support in Office, and the features in Office 12 that will mean the most to developers.
